Develop your knowledge and understanding of myxomatosis, a common ocular disease in rabbits. This is a two-part course that can also be taken as part of the Myxomatosis and VHD bundle.
In this course you will learn how to effectively diagnose and treat myxomatosis in rabbits, including:
Cause – myxoma virus, spread by biting flies or fleas, and by mechanical vectors.
Signs – severe edmea of lips, eyelids and genitals, pyrexia, depression, chronic localized skin nodules, mortality.
Treatment – supportive and palliative only.
Prognosis – very poor in the acute systemic form. Good to excellent in the more chronic skin form.
