Requirements – personnel, materials.
Preparation – assessment and triage, initial treatment and stabilization.
Core procedure – debridement, wound exploration, closure.
Aftercare – monitoring, general care, analgesia, antimicrobial therapy, wound protection, follow up.
Outcomes – dependent on the type of injury +/- involvement of underlying structures.
