This module looks at snake husbandry, housing, substrate, heat sources, light, water, humidity and ventilation, including:
Housing – habitat selection thermal preferences, availability of prey, protection from predators, suitable nesting areas, hibernaculums for overwintering
Substrate – naturalistic, simplistic (clinical)
Heat sources – ectothermic, behavioral thermoregulation, heliothermy, temperature gradient, forms of heating, temperature requirements
Light – circadian rhythms, ultraviolet A and B, metabolic bone disease, D blood levels
Water – requirement, water bowl size, misting enclosure, cleaning
Humidity and ventilation – water moisture tolerance, misting, water baths, damp substrate, hygiene, hides, fans, and problems with excessively high or low humidity
