This module looks at useful equipment, basic monitoring, blood work, the ventilated patient and foal sepsis, including:
Basic monitoring – behaviour, heart rate, respiration rate, mucous membranes, rectal temperature, defecation, urination, water and food intake, medication, auscultation of abdomen, reflux, and catheter site.
Blood work – blood samples, blood gas analysis, and other monitoring.
The ventilated patient – blood gas analysis, end tidal CO2, Hb saturation with O2, tidal volume, respiration rate, and normal values.
Foal sepsis – diagnosis, other test, and scoring systems.
